The Ready Steady Light (RSL) is an annual competition which will see teams of lighting professionals competing against each other to design and set up temporary exterior installations with a limited range of equipment in 90 minutes.
About the competition
Light Middle East together with The Society of Light & Lighting, UK has been hosting the Ready Steady Light Competition for 3 years running, with the 4th edition set to take place again this year on 15th October 2019.
For the first time, the venue will not be at the Dubai World Trade Centre, with a new and exciting location for RSL to be announced soon! In addition to a new venue for the event, this year, students and aspiring lighting pupils will also be participating in Ready Steady Light. For the competition each randomly chosen team is allocated a site and, returning to basic engineering and design, teams will be tasked with lighting their site in its natural state with the equipment provided. They will each have to overcome challenges without a budget and within time constraints.
